MANILA, Philippines — Philippine officials have been asked to help translate advisories by the governments of Bahrain and Germany on the A(H1N1) virus into the Filipino language.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said this is aside from the continued monitoring by Philippine posts of the A(H1N1) situation in their host countries.
So far, the DFA said there have been no reports of Filipinos abroad being infected with the A(H1N1) virus.
"Bahrain Ministry of Health requested the Embassy’s assistance in translating into Filipino an advisory poster for Filipino travelers entering the country," the DFA said on its website (
Department of Foreign Affairs) Wednesday afternoon, quoting a report from the Philippine Embassy in Manama.
In Germany, the Philippine Embassy in Berlin is revising and translating into the German language the A(H1N1) advisory for posting in the Philippine Embassy’s website.
"Together with the Tagalog version, this will be disseminated in the consular section as well as during Filipino community events," the Philippine Embassy in Berlin said.
On the other hand, the Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou, China said the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office has provided it with "detailed contact information" of hospitals that can receive suspected A(H1N1) cases.
